What is the philosophy of Clark's Botanicals ?

Francesco: Clark's Botanicals is centered around rebalancing your skin. We're not all natural. CB is a more modern approach to beauty, where the best of nature marries the best of traditional science to give you healthy, glowing, skin. Everything about the line started completely organically, from the effects my spinal cord injury had on my skin. My skin had lost the ability to sweat, losing it's ability to detoxify and rebalance itself. Having tried prescription, over-the-counter, $700 and $3 creams and nothing worked, I turned to my father, a medical doctor also trained in homeopathy and vitamin therapies, and started formulating. But the thing is, I never started formulating and creating thinking this would become a business. I just wanted to look good! I wanted to be me again, and that's what I want people to see and feel when they use CB: to see themselves in the mirror looking young and vibrant and healthy, because that's how they feel on the inside.

Are there any key ingredients that are signature to your line?

Francesco: All of our products use Jasmine Absolute as their base. It is naturally immunostimulating, boosting Collagen production in aging skin, antibacterial, killing the bacteria causing acne, and calming, which is great for moisturizing and environmentally stressed out skin. The entire line is Paraben-free, preservatives used in most other lines that have been shown in medical studies to elevate estrogen levels in women, leading to breast cancer. We don't use sodium laurel sulfate, petrochemicals, colorants, or anything that may be unhealthy for your body in any way. Having said that, all of our ingredients have a reason for being in their respective formulations, one building upon the strength of the other, creating a synergy that results in beautiful, youthful, healthy skin. One exciting new ingredient we use is the Uttwiller spatlauber apple stem cells in our CELLULAR LIFTING SERUM. It gives incredible results that I've never seen before: lifting, brightening, and tightening, and it's natural! It's such a strong natural ingredient and it's giving better results. I love that!

What are your most popular products?

Francesco: Our most popular products are our Nourishing Youth Serum, Anti-Puff Eye Cream, and Smoothing Marine Cream. They work so well together, and everyone sees a difference when they use them, which is the ultimate goal.

Francesco: Well, not every product is good for everyone, so if you ever read that a certain product is good for everyone, it's just not true. The truth of the matter is, you should mix and match, pick and choose according to your skin type. Even the way our Nourishing Youth Serum is used, for example, is so different from person to person. Women with oily complexions use it in place of a moisturizer and they love that it's so easy to travel with. Two pumps and you're done. Reapplication is easy, too. Women with acne also use the Nourishing Youth Serum and many start using it on the decolette. The Anti-Puff Eye Cream is fantastic as a line treatment, too, because it helps to brighten the skin, and our Ultra-Rich Lip Balm is actually used by professional make-up artists as an eye cream to get rid of stubborn dryness and fine wrinkles. It gives a sheer shine that brings attention to the lips and eyes.
