What is your philosophy about skincare and chocolate?

I believe that when you are happy you feel beautiful. I wanted to create a skincare line that made you beautiful by helping you smile. We all have good beauty days as well as not so good ones. What changes from day to day is how we feel each day; did we get enough sleep, enough water, did we avoid too much bad stuff, are our relationships healthy, etc. With this philosophy of being beautiful, I searched for the ultimate beauty ingredient and found that chocolate was the obvious winner.

Chocolate is rich in polyphenols and is a superb moisturizer, but the real reason we feel that chocolate is the ultimate beauty ingredient is chocolate's intoxicating aroma which produces a desirable effect - a feel good moment, so to speak. No official tests have been done, but we say that over 95% of people smile and feel great after smelling chocolate.

What skin challenges is chocolate best for?

Chocolate as a skincare ingredient is suited for all skin types, but dry, prematurely aging or aging skin benefits the most due the high levels of antioxidants found in chocolate and its excellent moisturizing properties.

What suggestions do you have for our readers who are still struggling to stop using products that are made with chemicals?

It is easy to believe at first that natural does not work as well as something developed in a lab, but it simply is not true. Natural ingredients in their original form are the ingredients of choice for skincare. The whole ingredient offers a synergistic blend of vitamins and minerals that an extract created in a lab cannot compete with.

Your true skin type must be identified as well as your current skin condition, and then you should find the proper natural ingredients to work with. Your skin will not change over night, but with proper care should be able to achieve balance.

Can you share a simple home skincare recipe with our readers? Sure!

I would love to share a simple chocolate sugar scrub.

1 cup of cane sugar (I prefer organic cane or unbleached sugar)
1/2 cup grape seed oil (You can use any light oil if you like, but make sure it is not a strongly scented oil)
2 Tbsp cocoa powder

Mix the cocoa powder into the oil. Whisk well. Add the sugar and stir well. Apply to moist skin and rub gently. This scrub does not need any refrigeration.

Final message and words of advice.

Beauty routines should be simple and beauty products should make you feel beautiful. Keep your skin hydrated and properly moisturized while avoiding excessive environmental assaults. All you need to look beautiful is a smile.
